Boxing Day Reminder: The Morning After Matters!

Dear NHM users,

Christmas Day may be over, but the celebrations—and their effects—can linger. If you enjoyed a few festive drinks yesterday, remember: you could still be over the limit this morning.
Every year, drivers are caught the day after Christmas because alcohol stays in your system longer than you think. Even if you feel fine, you might still be unsafe to drive.

Our advice:

Give yourself plenty of time before getting behind the wheel.

Use public transport, taxis, or arrange a lift if you’re unsure.

When in doubt—don’t drive.

Officers across West Mercia will be out as part of Operation Presence and Operation Limit, keeping our communities and our roads safe, checking for drink and drug driving. Let’s make sure Boxing Day is remembered for family, football, and leftovers—not for losing your licence.
